Overview
Address:

Mischief and Mayhem is the creation of Michael and Fiona Ragg, whose passion for wine and for Burgundy in particular, inspired them to move to the region and create the company. Michael Ragg spent nearly 10 years working with leading UK wine merchant Berry Bros. & Rudd before moving with his wife Fiona, to Burgundy in spring 2003.

Living in Aloxe-Corton for eleven years has given Michael and Fiona Ragg the opportunity to develop a large network of contacts and growers on the ground in Burgundy and this is key to the business. Mischief and Mayhem sources grapes from all over the Côte d'Or and the Raggs' knowledge of the region, coupled with over a decade on the ground and in the vineyards, combine together in a business that is dedicated to producing outstanding wines from some of the world's greatest Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vineyards.

The company achieved full domaine status in 2012 with the purchase of a small vineyard plot in Aloxe-Corton. An additional vineyard in Savigny-les Beaune Premier Cru Aux Gravains was added to the portfolio in 2013, and the company is currently engaged in a renovation programme, creating its new winery and barrel cellars in Aloxe-Corton.

Vineyard:

The concept of Mischief and Mayhem is for us to produce excellent wines from a broad variety of vineyard sites throughout the Côte d’Or and Chablis. Having the flexibility to do this, as opposed to owning one vineyard and producing wines just from this one site, is of great benefit. Individual vintage conditions vary hugely from year to year here in Burgundy, so this approach, whereby we focus on which vineyards and grapes performed best in a given year, ultimately means that we can produce and offer better wines to our customers around the world.
