Corton Bressandes
2011
2011

This Corton Bressandes Grand Cru was produced from Pinot Noir vines with an age of nearly 45 years, sited in reddish limestone and clay soils with a south-east aspect on the mid-Bressandes slope north-east of the ancient village of Aloxe-Corton.  Bottled after 18 months in barrel, this is a wine of real richness, purity and length.  A delicious wine to drink by itself or an ideal accompaniment to roast game, pheasant, partridge or rib of beef.

Wine Notes
Color
Bright ruby red in color fading to a pale mauve rim. Deep and rich.
Aroma
Complex and intense, almost brooding. Many elements on the nose, most notably, black fruits, damson and cherry, soy, black tea, dark chocolate and loganberry against which are balanced elements of black pepper spice, smoke and toast.
Taste
Rich, powerful and youthful. It displays substantial tannins and firm texture, yet is nicely balanced by lifted acidity and supple, well knit, fruit notes of plum and blackberry, all balanced nicely by hints of spice and dark chocolate. Full, yet young.
