Terlato Wines is pleased to announce the appointment of Josephine C. Terlato as Illinois Regional Manager for its Premier Division, effective July 1. Ms. Terlato (daughter of Terlato Wines CEO Bill Terlato) joins the company from Southern Wine & Spirits Illinois, where she progressed from sales representative roles in suburban and city routes to On-Premise District Manager. This marks the fourth generation family member to work in the Terlato company.
In her new role, Ms. Terlato will be responsible for sales of Terlato Wines' Premier Division portfolio in the company’s home market and manage a team of District Managers. She will report to Philip Tardy, Director of Sales for Terlato Wines’ Central Division.
“Jo has made a positive impact in the wine industry in a short period of time.” said Bill Terlato, CEO of Terlato Wines. “She learned a lot and was very well trained at SWS. I am appreciative to Will Conniff at Southern for providing such an excellent opportunity, and I’m proud of how she handled her responsibilities and performed there. She grew up around the wine business, but she established her reputation in the wine industry at Southern over the past three and a half years.”
At Southern, Ms. Terlato established a track record of success and accomplishment with double-digit sales increases and was a two-time winner of their “Best of the Best Award” as a Sales Rep and a Manager in successive years. Most recently she managed a team of six on-premise wine sales reps in the city, encompassing more than 500 top restaurant accounts. She received her Certified Specialist of Wine certification in 2010, and she also has her Certified Sake Specialist certification. Prior to joining Southern, Ms. Terlato taught fourth grade at Gary Lighthouse Charter School in Gary, Indiana as part of Teach for America.
