Lake Bluff, Ill.

At the annual Market Watch Leaders Awards Dinner in New York City on Sept. 10, William A. Terlato was selected Industry Executive of the Year.  Each year, Market Watch’s industry leaders, including retailers, on-premise buyers, educators and other influencers select an executive who has advanced their business opportunities and helped fuel industry growth.

“Building on the work of his father and grandfathers, Bill Terlato has led a juggernaut of growth and diversification at Terlato Wine Group,” said Marvin Shanken, editor and publisher of Market Watch and owner and publisher of Wine Spectator magazine.  “Under his dynamic leadership the company has expanded its portfolio to read like a fine wine list and now has a 20 percent market share of wines retailing $20 and up in the United States. Terlato Wines continues to expand at a rapid rate with creative marketing and product development.”

CEO of Terlato Wine Group and Terlato Wines since 1994, Terlato has worked to advance his company’s position as the premier importer, marketer and producer of luxury wine in the United States.

“Our family passion for fine wine goes back four generations,” commented Terlato.  “My father, brother and I are privileged to work with our talented and loyal winery partners. They produce some of the most distinctive and acclaimed wines in the world,” said Terlato.  “It’s a pleasure to help bring great wines to the marketplace, and I take this opportunity to thank our Terlato team, distributors and trade partners who support our vision and ambitious goals for the future. We are enjoying strong growth, and our best work is still in front of us."
