National Director of Sales, On-Premise
Anthony Terlato has worked in the wine and spirits industry for five and a half years. He started his career as a sales representative in Chicago at Southern Wine & Spirits for on-premise accounts. In 2014, after consistently increasing sales and distribution in his territory, he was promoted to account manager for the Signature Division of Southern Wine and Spirits (fine wine), where he called on some of the largest off- premise accounts in Chicago, including Whole Foods and Mariano’s.
In 2015, Tony moved to New York City, to join Empire Merchants as a Field Sales Manager in Manhattan and Brooklyn. He’s achieved Level 3 certification from the Wine & Spirits Education Trust.
In 2011, Tony was one of the first hires at an online reservation technology startup company based in San Francisco called SeatMe. He was the company’s leading sales representative, helping the company sign and implement over 90 new restaurant groups in his first year based in Chicago. After two years of successful account acquisition and steady growth, SeatMe was purchased by the restaurant and retail review website Yelp.
As a young adult, Anthony completed multiple internships in the industry at Sanford, Chimney Rock, and Rutherford Hill wineries in California. He also spent a summer working at the M. Chapoutier Winery in the Rhone Valley of France. He has studied both the production and retail aspects of winemaking. Tony holds a bachelor’s degree in History from Duke University, as well as a Markets and Management certificate.
After a successful role as Region Manager of the Midwest for Terlato Wines International, Tony was recently promoted to National Director of Sales, On-Premise, and is the fourth generation to be involved in the family business.
