Although technically unpeated, the slight peat content of the water source at Tobermory Distillery lends a unique character to the Tobermory 10 Year Old, which is smooth with notes of fruit and spice. It's aged in ex-Bourbon casks, and displays aromas and flavors of gingerbread, spiced oak, bitter chocolate and almonds.
This limited edition malt has been perfected using a dual-location maturation process. For its final year of ageing, it rests in hand-selected Gonzalez Byass Oloroso Sherry butts. The result is a rich and layered Scotch with aromas of toffee, fig and orange marmalade, and complex flavors of fruitcake, milk chocolate and a distinct nuttiness.
This is the rarest and oldest single malt Scotch whisky produced at Tobermory Distillery. It's intense and layered with richly complex aromas of roasted chestnuts, stewed prunes, tobacco, Sherry and licorice. Its perfumed nose gives way to vivid flavors of coffee, bitter dark chocolate, cherry liqueur, powerful oak and spicy dried black fruits.
