In 1859, the vine-growing family of Duval joined the Champagne merchant family of Leroy establishing this iconic Champagne House and style. Today, Duval-Leroy is still owned and run by the same family, making it the largest independent house in Champagne and the only house in the prestigious Côte des Blancs for more than 150 years. Duval-Leroy is synonymous with consistent quality as the first house to create Champagne only from Grand Cru and Premier Cru villages. The portfolio of wines range from an accessible Brut NV to the prestigious Femme de Champagne. The only major House located in the prestigious Cote des Blancs for more than 150 years. Duval-Leroy cultivates around 500 acres with 35% situated in Premier Cru and Grand Cru villages. Duval-Leroy uses 40% fruit from their own Estate, which is a scale rarely found in the Champagne region and a major asset to the House because it guarantees quality and consistency. Chardonnay is the predominate grape planted offering finesse, elegance, freshness to all of the wines thanks to the ideal growing conditions in the Côte des Blancs.
This 100% family owned and operated House was established in 1859 and handed down for six generations. In 1991, Carol Duval-Leroy joined a very select group of women running champagne houses after the sudden loss of her husband that same year. Today, Carol is Chairman & Chief Executive of Champagne Duval-Leroy and President of the Wine Association of the Champagne region. She is joined by her three sons in running this iconic House.
