With the 2005 vintage, for the first time in history, the GAJA family decided to produce a classic Brunello without single vineyard designation, blended from the 40 acre estates top sites. Pieve Santa Restituta's Brunello di Montalcino is now produced from a selection of estate-grown grapes from throughout the property's four non-contiguous vineyards as well as 25 acres of southwest facing vineyards GAJA acquired in 2006

The 2012 has been ‘declared” a 5-star vintage by the Brunello Consortium. As always the GAJA Family continues to march to their own beat and create wines they feel express the best of their vineyards, regardless of Consortium assessments. Staying true to this philosophy, the winery is only releasing 2012 Brunello do Montalcino (no single vineyards).

Moderate temperatures, abundant rainfall and long and bright days alternated all year long.
