Nestled above the snow capped mountains of Central Otago on the Bendigo Loop Road is the small Pinot Noir Vineyard “Someone’s Darling”. The climate and unique terroir combined make this region one of the best for producing premium Pinot Noir. Loveblock is charged with creating the best wine to express this extraordinary place with its unique aspect.

Loveblock follows a deeply held belief of ethical farming which allows the wine to show its true and naked terroir. “Someone’s Darling” is Sustainable Winegrowing New Zealand (SWNZ) accredited.

Taking advantage of Bendigo’s extreme daily fluctuations, the grapes were machine harvested in the cool of the evening. A destemmer harvester was used to remove any leaf or petioles. The grapes were transported to the winery where they were cooled for a pre-fermentation cold soak of five days. During this time, 15% of the juice was drawn off for Rose. The grapes were then warmed and inoculated. The grapes were hand plunged twice each day and then the wine was pressed at dryness and then underwent fermentation and maturation.
