Perched right on the hilltops overlooking Marlborough’s Awatere Valley, Loveblock is far removed from the agricultural bustle in the valley below.  Loveblock is charged with creating the best wine to express this extraordinary place with its unique aspect.  New Zealand’s signature varietal tends to be bold and big.  This wine focuses on texture rather than enhanced aromatics.  In order to take some of the sharp edge off the palate, a small portion of the wine goes through natural and malolactic fermentation.

Perched right on the hilltops overlooking Marlborough’s Awatere Valley, Loveblock is far removed from the agricultural bustle in the valley below. Loveblock is charged with creating the best wine to express this extraordinary place with its unique aspect.

Loveblock follows a deeply held belief of ethical farming which allows the wine to show its true and naked terroir. The Loveblock farm in the Lower Awatere sub region of Marlborough, is certified organic by BioGro New Zealand, the country’s leading organic certifier.

The grapes were machine harvested on a cool Marlborough morning. They were immediately transferred to the adjacent winery where they were de-stemmed and crushed before being transferred to the tank press. After four hours settling, the juice was inoculated with organic yeast. No preservatives were added before fermentation and New Zealand BioGro organic winemaking guidelines were strictly adhered to.

New Zealand’s signature varietal tends to be bold and big. This wine focuses on texture rather than enhanced aromatics. In order to take some of the sharp edge off the palate, a small portion of the wine goes through natural and malolactic fermentation.
