Wairau River (pronounced “why-raow”) was established in 1978 by the Rose family. Pioneers in this region, the Roses were able to select the best sites for their vineyards. From their original Home Block dating back to 1990, these grapes are from some of the oldest Pinot Gris vines in Marlborough. This is a dry wine with classic pear and quince texture and flavors with superb length. Only 100% estate grown fruit of the highest quality is reserved for the Wairau River label, reinforcing consistency of quality vintage after vintage.
