Chateau de Meursault Pommard Premier Cru “Clos des Epenots” 2012

The name of this wine refers to the thorny bushes that used to thrive freely on the vineyard land. A deep, brilliant ruby hue, it has aromas of ripe black fruits and baking spices. Light-bodied with high acidity, it is best enjoyed with boeuf Bourguignon, poultry dishes or mature cheeses.

After destalking, the juice is fermented in stainless steel vats for 15-18 days. Cold maceration lasts for 5-6 days, followed by alcoholic fermentation. Gentle cap-punching is made during this period to obtain complete and perfect maceration.
Aged for 12 months in oak barrels (about 30% new) as well as in 1-2 year old barrels.
