M. Chapoutier

Michel Chapoutier is one of the most highly regarded winemakers in the world. Since taking over his family firm in 1990 at the age of 26, his wines have garnered more than 550 90+ ratings from Wine Spectator and The Wine Advocate as well as 29 100-point ratings – more than any other winemaker in the world. When the Chapoutier family settled in the Rhône Valley in 1808, it quickly became one of the most important names in the prestigious Hermitage, Côte Rôtie and Châteuneuf-du-Pape appellations. Now M. Chapoutier combines the modern and the traditional and crusades for biodynamic winemaking in France and Europe. He is one of the first winemakers and grape growers to convert a historic estate to biodynamic and chemical-free farming.
