Mora means “horse” in Italian, a tribute to the cattle-herding cowboys that lived in the Maremma region. This wine is made from Sangiovese (locally known as morellino) that is traditionally grown in the Chianti Classico region. When grown in Maremma, the grapes have a more fruit-forward flavor due to the sunlight they receive. This wine pairs nicely with roasts and pasta, as well as sausages and hard cheeses.
